In Friday's non-league outing, the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Apex Cougars (Apex, NC), by a margin of 71-67.
The Patriots (3-2) will now prepare for their outing against Clayton (Clayton, NC). The Comets go into the non-league outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Clayton got by Sanderson (Raleigh, NC), 51-50, in a non-league outing.
The Cougars now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Green Level for a 4A Southeast Wake outing on Tuesday, December 12. Apex will clash with a Gators squad coming off a 70-52 non-league win over Athens Drive (Raleigh, NC). The Gators record now stands at 5-0.
