Capitol Lions (Baton Rouge, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA), 50-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Capitol upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Neville (Monroe, LA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 5-2. Neville won 75-51 in their recent non-league bout against El Dorado (El Dorado, AR)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Arcadia Hornets (Arcadia, LA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 11. Ruston will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 0-6 record after their 68-63 non-league loss to Gibsland-Coleman (Gibsland, LA).
