Westbrook Blue Blazes (Westbrook, ME) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Greely Rangers (Cumberland Center, ME), 50-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Westbrook upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Blue Blazes host Falmouth (Falmouth, ME) to play the Navigators in a A South bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Navigators go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Falmouth won 75-54 in their recent league bout against Gray-New Gloucester (Gray, ME)

Next up, the Rangers play the Gorham Rams (Gorham, ME) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Greely will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 64-50 league win over South Portland (South Portland, ME).
