The Morton Panthers basketball team scored 69 points and restricted the visiting Northwest Rankin Cougars to 47 in the Panthers non-league victory on Friday.

The Panthers now sport a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Florence for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 12. Morton will battle a Eagles team coming off a 71-49 non-league win over Richland (Richland, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 9-4.

The Cougars (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Starkville (Starkville, MS). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Starkville was routed by Columbus (Columbus, MS), 59-56, in a non-league contest.
