The Blooming Grove Lions topped the visiting Venus Bulldogs basketball team by a final score of 54-40 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Lions face the Kemp Yellowjackets (Kemp, TX) in a 3A Region III District 18 game, on Tuesday, December 12. Blooming Grove will attempt to move on its 8-6 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the battle with a 0-5 record after their 61-21 non-league loss to Brownsboro (Brownsboro, TX).

The Bulldogs (9-9) will now prepare for their battle against Godley (Godley, TX). The Wildcats come into the 4A Region II District 10 battle with a 12-5 record. In their last battle, Godley dropped by Dunbar (Fort Worth, TX), 64-60, in a non-league battle.
