The Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) basketball nipped the host Ranchview Wolves (Irving, TX), 44-37 in Friday's non-league test.

The Trojans (7-6) will now prepare for their test against Frisco (Frisco, TX). The Raccoons go into the 5A Region II District 9 test with a 3-10 record. In their last test, Frisco got by Emerson (McKinney, TX), 45-34, in a non-league test.

The Wolves now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they host Decatur for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 12. Ranchview will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 41-40 non-league win over Canyon (Canyon, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 12-2.
