The Washburn Castle Guards basketball team scored 61 points and limited the host Phillips Loggers to 56 in the Castle Guards non-league triumph on Monday.

The Castle Guards now have a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mercer for a Northern Lights outing on Tuesday, December 9. Washburn will face a Tigers squad coming off a 65-46 league loss to South Shore (Port Wing, WI). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.

The Loggers (0-1) will now prepare for their outing against Newman Catholic (Wausau, WI). The Fighting Cardinals go into the non-league game with a 1-3 record. In their last game, Newman Catholic was edged by Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool (Green Bay, WI), 61-47, in a non-league game.
