Texas High School Basketball - Burges can't hold off Cooper

The Cooper Pirates basketball team scored 45 points and restricted the host Burges Mustangs to 42 in the Pirates non-league victory on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Midland for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 10. Cooper will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 58-56 non-league win over Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-3.

The Mustangs (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against El Paso (El Paso, TX). The Tigers come into the 5A Region I District 1 contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, El Paso was nudged by Chapin (El Paso, TX), 57-46, in a league contest.
