Rome Free Academy Black Knights (Rome, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Holland Patent Golden Knights (Holland Patent, NY), 86-77 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Rome Free Academy upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Black Knights travel to Bishop Ludden (Syracuse, NY) to clash with the Gaelic Knights in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Gaelic Knights go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Bishop Ludden lost 68-52 in their recent league bout against Corcoran (Syracuse, NY)

Next up, the Golden Knights clash with the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils (Verona, NY) in a Section 3 Tri-Valley - Pioneer bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Holland Patent will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Red Devils go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 69-64 non-league loss to Waterville (Waterville, NY).
