Pine Raiders (Franklinton, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), 61-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pine upgrades its record to 2-4 on the season. The Raiders host Amite (Amite, LA) to clash with the Warriors in a 3A District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 1-2.

Next up, the Jaguars clash with the Episcopal Knights (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 10. Pope John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 54-51 non-league win over Vandebilt Catholic (Houma, LA).
