In Friday's non-league outing, the Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) basketball squad beat the visiting La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ), by a margin of 42-24.

The Patriots (1-5) will now prepare for their outing against Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ). The Hawks go into the 5A Central Valley outing with a 1-3 record. In their last outing, Buckeye was beaten by Canyon View (Waddell, AZ), 62-14, in a non-league outing.

The Fighting Lobos now own a 0-5 record. They play next when they travel to Casa Grande for a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 13.
