Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers (Yanceyville, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Morehead Panthers (Eden, NC), 40-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bartlett Yancey upgrades its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 6-0. Eastern Alamance won 66-59 in their recent non-league bout against Southern Alamance (Graham, NC)

Next up, the Panthers play the North Forsyth Vikings (Winston-Salem, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Morehead will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 47-37 non-league win over Carver (Winston-Salem, NC).
