Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA) and the visiting Portola Bulldogs (Irvine, CA), saw Newport Harbor's basketball squad knock off Portola by a count of 54-46.

With the victory, Newport Harbor upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Sailors travel to Canyon (Anaheim, CA) to play the Comanches in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 28. The Comanches come into the challenge with a record of 8-1.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Ocean View Seahawks (Huntington Beach, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 10. Portola will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Seahawks come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 44-39 non-league loss to Cerritos (Cerritos, CA).
