Kuemper Knights (Carroll, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA), 62-61 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Kuemper upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Atlantic (Atlantic, IA) to play the Trojans in a Hawkeye Ten bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 3-3. Atlantic won 72-35 in their recent non-league bout against Nodaway Valley (Greenfield, IA)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Madrid Tigers (Madrid, IA) in a West Central bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Van Meter will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 75-61 league win over Woodward-Granger (Woodward, IA).
