Texas High School Basketball - Mathis holds off London

Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX) and the visiting London Pirates (Corpus Christi, TX), saw Mathis's basketball team get by London by a score of 51-44.

The Pirates now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Three Rivers for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 12. Mathis will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 35-34 non-league win over Jourdanton (Jourdanton, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-5.

The Pirates (7-8) will now prepare for their battle against Kaufer (Riviera, TX). The Seahawks come into the 2A Region IV District 32 battle with a 4-11 record. In their last battle, Kaufer was nudged by King (Kingsville, TX), 57-37, in a non-league battle.
