The Whitewright Tigers basketball team scored 36 points and held the visiting Detroit Eagles to 34 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Tigers now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Celeste for a 2A Region II District 14 contest on Tuesday, December 12. Whitewright will meet a Blue Devils team coming off a 38-32 non-league win over Blue Ridge (Blue Ridge, TX). The Blue Devils record now stands at 14-0.

The Eagles (4-16) will now prepare for their contest against Ector (Ector, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 1-12 record. In their last contest, Ector was nudged by Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX), 45-21, in a non-league contest.
