In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Melbourne Bearkatz basketball team scored a good 63-44 triumph over the Izard County Cougars.
In their next game, the Bearkatz meet the Salem Greyhounds (Salem, AR) in a 3A Region 2 match, on Monday, December 11. Melbourne will attempt to move on its 7-4 season record. The Greyhounds enter the match with a 8-2 record after their 66-44 league win over Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR).
With the defeat, Izard County moves to 5-4 on the year. The Cougars travel to White County Central (Judsonia, AR) to meet the Bears in a 2A Region 2 match on Tuesday, December 12. The Bears enter the match with a record of 1-13. White County Central lost 56-29 in their recent league match against Marshall (Marshall, AR)
