Raymondville Bearkats (Raymondville, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Progreso Red Ants (Progreso, TX), 56-17 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Raymondville upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Bearkats host Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX) to play the Pirates in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 4-9. Hidalgo lost 28-16 in their recent non-league bout against Roma (Roma, TX)

Next up, the Red Ants play the IDEA Riverview Rockets (Brownsville, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Progreso will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 75-14 league loss to Rio Hondo (Rio Hondo, TX).
