Hermitage Panthers (Richmond, VA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA), 54-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hermitage upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 2-2. Patrick Henry won 70-22 in their recent non-league battle against Armstrong (Richmond, VA)

The Monarchs (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against Gloucester (Gloucester, VA). The Dukes come into the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Gloucester was nudged by Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA), 65-17, in a non-league battle.
