Kentucky High School Basketball - Powell County nudges Bluegrass United

The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) and the visiting Bluegrass United Bluehawks (Lexington, KY), observed Powell County's basketball team edge Bluegrass United by a score of 67-62.

The Pirates (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Paintsville (Paintsville, KY). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Paintsville edged East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY), 88-50, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bluehawks encounter the Bourbon County Colonels (Paris, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 12. Bluegrass United will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Colonels come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 89-76 non-league loss to Campbell County (Alexandria, KY).
