In Monday's non-league contest, the host Coronado Islanders basketball team scored a big 62-39 triumph over the Mount Miguel Matadors.

The Islanders (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against El Capitan (Lakeside, CA). The Vaqueros go into the non-league contest with a 3-6 record. In their last contest, El Capitan was trounced by West Hills (Santee, CA), 70-69, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Matadors battle the Granite Hills Eagles (El Cajon, CA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Mount Miguel will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 58-53 non-league loss to Canyon Hills (San Diego, CA).
