In Monday's non-league contest, the host May River Sharks basketball team scored a close 15-8 triumph over the John Paul II Golden Warrriors.
The Sharks (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Colleton County (Walterboro, SC). The Cougars go into the contest with a 3-1 record.
In their next game, the Golden Warrriors battle the Patrick Henry Academy Patriots (Estill, SC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, January 9. John Paul II will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record.
