Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Heartland Christian Lions (Columbiana, OH) and the host John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles (Warren, OH), witnessed Heartland Christian's basketball squad hold off John F. Kennedy Catholic by a count of 58-56.

With the victory, Heartland Christian advances its record to 5-0 on the year. The Lions host Salem (Salem, OH) to meet the Quakers in a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 16. The Quakers enter the battle with a record of 1-1.

The Eagles now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mogadore for a Portage Trail challenge on Friday, December 12. John F. Kennedy Catholic will encounter a Wildcats team coming off a 57-50 non-league win over East Canton (East Canton, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.
