The Mt. Baker Mountaineers basketball team (Deming, WA), was overwhelmed 94-38 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA)

The Bulldogs now possess a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bellingham for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle on Saturday, February 4. Mount Vernon will battle a Bayhawks team coming off a 72-56 league loss to Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Bayhawks record now stands at 7-12.

The Mountaineers (2-15) will now prepare for their battle against Lakewood (Arlington, WA). The Cougars come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle with a 9-10 record. In their last battle, Lakewood trounced Meridian (Bellingham, WA), 62-56, in a league battle.
