In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Ayer Shirley Panthers (Ayer, MA) basketball squad edged the visiting Lunenburg Blue Knights (Lunenburg, MA), by a count of 45-41.
The Panthers (10-1) will now prepare for their outing against Tahanto Regional (Boylston, MA). The Stags go into the Midland-Wachusett D outing with a 8-4 record.
The Blue Knights now hold a 1-12 record. They play next when they travel to Quabbin Regional for a Midland-Wachusett C outing on Friday, February 3. Lunenburg will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 54-25 non-league win over Doherty Memorial (Worcester, MA). The Panthers record now stands at 4-4.
