Rhode Island High School Basketball - Mt. Pleasant thwarted by Smithfield

The Mt. Pleasant Kilties basketball team (Providence, RI), was toppled 57-42 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI)

The Sentinels now possess a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cranston East for a Division 2 battle on Friday, February 3. Smithfield will confront a Thunderbolts team coming off a 55-46 league loss to West Warwick (West Warwick, RI). The Thunderbolts record now stands at 4-11.

The Kilties (0-14) will now prepare for their battle against Coventry (Coventry, RI). The Oakers come into the Division 2 battle with a 5-10 record. In their last battle, Coventry beat Mt. Hope (Bristol, RI), 49-41, in a league battle.
