The Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), 48-30 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Golden Eagles (12-7) will now prepare for their test against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings go into the test with a 3-13 record. In their last test, North Wilkes notched a victory over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 56-49, in a non-league test.
The Granite Bears now own a 3-14 record. They play next when they host East Wilkes for a test on Thursday, February 2. Mount Airy will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 51-19 non-league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 14-5.
