Chariton Chargers (Chariton, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wayne Falcons (Corydon, IA), 70-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Chariton upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Chargers travel to Clarke (Osceola, IA) to clash with the Indians in a South Central bout on Saturday, February 3. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 16-2. Clarke won 81-42 in their recent non-league bout against Clarinda (Clarinda, IA)

Next up, the Falcons clash with the Lenox Tigers (Lenox, IA) in a Pride of Iowa bout, on Friday, February 2. Wayne will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record.
