In Thursday's non-league outing, the Frederick A. Douglass Bobcats (New Orleans, LA) basketball squad nipped the host John Ehret Patriots (Marrero, LA), by a margin of 42-39.

The Bobcats (12-14) will now prepare for their outing against West St. John (Edgard, LA). The Rams go into the non-league outing with a 4-17 record. In their last outing, West St. John was tipped by St. Martin's Episcopal (Metairie, LA), 61-37, in a league outing.

The Patriots now own a 9-14 record. They play next when they host Chalmette for a 5A District 8 outing on Friday, February 2.
