The Newtown Nighthawks basketball team (Newtown, CT), was toppled 83-65 in Thursday's league battle with the host Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars (Bridgeport, CT)

The Cougars now possess a 14-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kennedy for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 3. Kolbe-Cathedral will confront a Eagles team coming off a 68-59 league loss to Seymour (Seymour, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 4-10.

The Nighthawks (8-7) will now prepare for their battle against Bassick (Bridgeport, CT). The Lions come into the non-league battle with a 3-9 record. In their last battle, Bassick beat Bridgeport Central (Bridgeport, CT), 82-56, in a non-league battle.
