Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA) and the host Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA), saw Lakewood's basketball squad knock off Mt. Baker by a count of 71-55.

With the victory, Lakewood upgrades its record to 12-8 on the campaign.

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Blaine Borderites (Blaine, WA) in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge, on Monday, February 5. Mt. Baker will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Borderites come into the challenge with a 4-16 record after their 73-52 league loss to Ferndale (Ferndale, WA).
