In Thursday's non-league outing, the Central Springs Panthers (Manly, IA) basketball squad beat the visiting New Hampton Chickasaws (New Hampton, IA), by a count of 55-45.
The Panthers (13-5) will now prepare for their outing against Northwood-Kensett (Northwood, IA). The Vikings go into the Corn Bowl outing with a 7-14 record. In their last outing, Northwood-Kensett was topped by Osage (Osage, IA), 41-37, in a non-league outing.
The Chickasaws now hold a 5-14 record. They play next when they travel to Charles City for a non-league outing on Friday, February 2. New Hampton will clash with a Comets squad coming off a 68-35 non-league loss to Newman Catholic (Mason City, IA). The Comets record now stands at 2-16.
