Diamond Wildcats (Diamond, MO) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Marionville Comets (Marionville, MO), 48-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Diamond upgrades its record to 17-2 on the season. The Wildcats host Springfield Catholic (Springfield, MO) to clash with the Fighting Irish in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Fighting Irish go into the bout with a record of 8-11. Springfield Catholic lost 64-30 in their recent league bout against Logan-Rogersville (Rogersville, MO)

Next up, the Comets clash with the Ash Grove Pirates (Ash Grove, MO) in a Southwest bout, on Monday, February 5. Marionville will attempt to upgrade on its 17-5 season record.
