The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Calhoun Warriors (Hardin, IL) and the visiting South County Vipers (Franklin, IL), observed Calhoun's basketball team knock off South County by a score of 59-49.

The Warriors (15-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL). The Trojans come into the Western Illinois Valley challenge with a 11-10 record. In their last challenge, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia prevailed over Griggsville-Perry (Griggsville, IL), 48-38, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Vipers encounter the Bunker Hill Minutemen (Bunker Hill, IL) in a MSM bout, on Tuesday, February 4. South County will attempt to move on its 13-12 season record. The Minutemen go into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 48-38 non-league loss to Carlinville (Carlinville, IL).
