In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions basketball team scored a close 55-51 triumph over the Marissa/Coulterville Meteors.

The Silver Stallions (9-13) will now prepare for their contest against Maryville Christian (Maryville, IL). The Lions go into the Gateway contest with a 6-14 record. In their last contest, Maryville Christian was tipped by Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL), 39-33, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Meteors battle the New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) in a Cahokia - Kaskaskia contest, on Wednesday, February 5. Marissa/Coulterville will attempt to better on its 14-7 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the contest with a 13-8 record after their 71-40 non-league loss to Sparta (Sparta, IL).
