Ohio High School Basketball - Mt. Gilead bests Elgin

The Mt. Gilead Indians (Mt. Gilead, OH) basketball toppled the visiting Elgin Comets (Marion, OH), 56-39 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Indians now possess a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Ridgemont for a non-league bout on Monday, February 3. Mt. Gilead will play a Golden Gophers team coming off a 50-37 non-league loss to Northmor (Galion, OH). The Golden Gophers record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, Elgin falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Cory-Rawson (Rawson, OH) to play the Fighting Hornets in a Northwest Central bout on Monday, February 3. The Fighting Hornets go into the bout with a record of 5-12. Cory-Rawson lost 51-37 in their recent non-league bout against Pandora-Gilboa (Pandora, OH)
