The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Classical Purple (Providence, RI) and the host Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI), observed Classical's basketball team overwhelm Johnston by a margin of 67-36.

The Purple (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Tolman (Pawtucket, RI). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, Tolman was trounced by North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI), 58-46, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Tiverton Tigers (Tiverton, RI) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 3. Johnston will attempt to better on its 6-9 season record.
