Burke Cougars (Burke, SD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting North Central Knights (Bassett, NE), 52-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Burke upgrades its record to 6-10 on the season. The Cougars host Colome (Colome, SD) to clash with the Cowboys in a B Region 5 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Cowboys go into the bout with a record of 8-8. Colome lost 60-32 in their recent league bout against Gregory (Gregory, SD)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades (Chambers, NE) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 11. North Central will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Renegades go into the bout with a 3-15 record after their 53-40 non-league loss to Neligh-Oakdale (Neligh, NE).
