Christopher Cougars (Gilroy, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Carmel Padres (Carmel, CA), 52-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Christopher upgrades its record to 12-11 on the season. The Cougars host Santa Teresa (San Jose, CA) to play the Saints in a Blossom Valley - Mt. Hamilton bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 18-5. Santa Teresa won 75-56 in their recent league bout against Oak Grove (San Jose, CA)

Next up, the Padres play the Everett Alvarez Eagles (Salinas, CA) in a PCAL - Gabilan bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Carmel will attempt to upgrade on its 20-3 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 13-9 record after their 60-56 league loss to Monterey (Monterey, CA).
