Illinois High School Basketball - Pana knocked off by Newton

The Newton Eagles basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Pana Panthers to 49 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 19-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Casey-Westfield for a Little Illini contest on Tuesday, February 13. Newton will battle a Warriors team coming off a 57-44 non-league loss to Bloomington Central Catholic (Bloomington, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 14-13.

The Panthers (8-21) will now prepare for their contest against Vandalia (Vandalia, IL). The Vandals enter the South Central contest with a 11-17 record. In their last contest, Vandalia was defeated by Carterville (Carterville, IL), 53-22, in a non-league contest.
