Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Edmonson County Wildcats (Brownsville, KY), 60-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Russell County upgrades its record to 14-8 on the season. The Lakers travel to Green County (Greensburg, KY) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 14-7.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Glasgow Scotties (Glasgow, KY) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 12. Edmonson County will attempt to upgrade on its 17-7 season record. The Scotties go into the bout with a 4-20 record after their 52-51 league loss to Allen County-Scottsville (Scottsville, KY).
