Pikeville Panthers (Pikeville, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY), 71-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pikeville upgrades its record to 20-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to Morgan County (West Liberty, KY) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, February 16. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 9-13.

Next up, the Cardinals play the Pineville Mountain Lions (Pineville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 13. South Laurel will attempt to upgrade on its 17-10 season record. The Mountain Lions go into the bout with a 18-4 record after their 63-54 non-league win over Madison Southern (Berea, KY).
