The Independence Patriots basketball squad (Coal City, WV), was crushed 68-26 in Monday's league battle with the visiting Princeton Tigers (Princeton, WV)

With the victory, Princeton advances its record to 11-4 on the year. The Tigers host Nicholas County (Summersville, WV) to meet the Grizzlies in a Coalfield AA battle on Thursday, February 13. The Grizzlies enter the battle with a record of 7-7.

The Patriots now own a 5-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Charleston for a non-league battle on Friday, February 14. Independence will meet a Black Eagles squad coming off a 54-46 league win over Huntington (Huntington, WV). The Black Eagles record now stands at 7-9.
