The Deep Creek Hornets basketball team scored 38 points and limited the visiting Hickory Hawks to 25 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Monday.
The Hornets now have a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Great Bridge for a non-league game on Tuesday, February 11. Deep Creek will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 48-47 non-league loss to Lakeland (Suffolk, VA). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-5.
With the loss, Hickory falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to King's Fork (Suffolk, VA) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Tuesday, February 11. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 5-4. King's Fork won 55-29 in their recent non-league game against Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA)
