Illinois High School Basketball - Athens nips Pleasant Plains

Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL), 36-35 in a league bout.
With the win, Athens upgrades its record to 18-7 on the season. The Warriors travel to Calvary (Springfield, IL) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Monday, February 14. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 13-11. Calvary won 73-43 in their recent league bout against Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL)
Next up, the Cardinals play the Routt Catholic Rockets (Jacksonville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 12. Pleasant Plains will attempt to upgrade on its 16-9 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 23-5 record after their 83-53 league win over Brown County (Mt. Sterling, IL).
