In Saturday's non-league outing, the Pelican Rapids Vikings (Pelican Rapids, MN) basketball squad edged the host Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds (Mahnomen, MN), by a margin of 67-63.
The Vikings (12-8) will now prepare for their outing against Perham (Perham, MN). The Yellowjackets go into the AA Section 8 outing with a 16-4 record. In their last outing, Perham was tipped by Cherry (Iron, MN), 66-56, in a non-league outing.
The Thunderbirds now own a 12-10 record. They play next when they host Clearbrook-Gonvick for a A Section 8 outing on Thursday, February 16. Mahnomen/Waubun will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 65-63 league win over Kittson Central/Lancaster (Hallock, MN). The Bears record now stands at 7-13.
