Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Simon Kenton Pioneers (Independence, KY) and the host Mason County Royals (Maysville, KY), saw Simon Kenton's basketball squad hold off Mason County by a tally of 45-42.

With the victory, Simon Kenton improves its record to 18-9 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Boone County (Florence, KY) to play the Rebels in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 14. The Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 2-17. Boone County lost 91-70 in their recent non-league challenge against Campbell County (Alexandria, KY)

Next up, the Royals play the Grant County Braves (Dry Ridge, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 16. Mason County will attempt to improve on its 23-4 season record.
