Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK) and the visiting North Pole Patriots (North Pole, AK), saw Valdez's basketball squad wallop North Pole by a count of 62-37.
With the victory, Valdez upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK) to play the Hawks in a 3A Aurora challenge on Friday, February 17. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 2-9.
Next up, the Patriots play the Ben Eielson Ravens (Eielson AFB, AK) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 13. North Pole will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Ravens come into the challenge with a 3-13 record after their 58-51 league loss to Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK).
