In Saturday's non-league outing, the Pearl City Wolves (Pearl City, IL) basketball squad edged the host Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL), by a count of 32-30.
The Wolves (11-20) will now prepare for their outing against Orangeville (Orangeville, IL). The Broncos go into the non-league outing with a 25-4 record. In their last outing, Orangeville held off Pecatonica (Pecatonica, IL), 53-26, in a league outing.
The Comets now hold a 7-23 record.
