Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Scituate Spartans (North Scituate, RI), 75-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Smithfield upgrades its record to 9-12 on the season. The Sentinels travel to Woonsocket (Woonsocket, RI) to clash with the Villa Novans in a Division 1 bout on Wednesday, February 14. The Villa Novans go into the bout with a record of 5-16. Woonsocket won 60-48 in their recent league bout against Mt. Pleasant (Providence, RI)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Davies Career & Tech Patriots (Lincoln, RI) in a Division 3 bout, on Thursday, February 15. Scituate will attempt to move on its 3-17 season record. The Patriots enter the game with a 6-11 record after their 47-44 league win over Blackstone Valley Prep (Cumberland, RI).
